PENANG BRIDGE INTERNATIONAL MARATHON (PBIM) REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO AUGUST 15, 2019
GEORGE TOWN: The PBIM committee is excited to extend the registration date to 15 August 2019 due to tremendous response.
“This is due to the overwhelming response from runners and marathon enthusiasts since we unveiled the medal design two weeks ago. To date, we have registered more than 23,000 runners”, said YB Yeoh Soon Hin, the chairman of Penang Bridge International Marathon Committee.
There are 3 categories namely Full Marathon (42 km), Half Marathon (21km) and 10km Run and the registration fees for LATE BIRD (1-15 August 2019) are RM150 for all categories.
PBIM chairman YB Yeoh Soon Hin urged for those who are interested in registering to do so immediately as this will be the last chance for registration. The registration will be closed for ALL categories on 15 August 2019, 11:59pm. All registration enquiries after the closing date will not be entertained.
“We would appreciate if the media can help us to blast this out as we received numerous calls daily last year following the registration closure including those overseas who are eager to participate, but are unable to do so after the registration is closed. We urge runners who have yet to register to do so before the closing date to avoid disappointments.”
The PBIM Committee is proud to announce that Brooks has once again come onboard our team as the official apparel. As this will be the final year for the 10KM category, the committee has decided to give a Finisher-T to all runners who completes their race within the qualifying time.
Only participants of the Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km Run who completed their race within their respective qualifying time at 7 hours (Full Marathon), 3 hours and 30 min (Half Marathon) and 1 hour 30 min (10km) will be eligible for the Finisher-T and medal.
This is in line with the PBIM effort to motivate runners and ensure a more competitive environment for the participants.
The event, which is happening this November 24 at the Queensbay Mall outdoor car park, is one of the most anticipated marathon in the country which will bring countless local and international marathon enthusiasts to Penang with the aim of beating their best time.
Named as the “Largest Marathon in Malaysia” by the Malaysian Book of Records for 4 consecutive years, the Penang Bridge International Marathon has placed Penang as one of the leading destinations for Sports Tourism in the region.
